Internal Audit Foundation Letter From the IAF President

IAF President Sets Sights High

Brian Christensen loves his profession and the world of internal audit. As the president of the Internal Audit Foundation, and his enthusiasm shows!

Brian says he is up for the challenge at this critical time in the internal audit profession. “More and more, internal auditors are being asked to step up and deliver topics that are new and germane to the businesses we serve,” he says.

In his role, he is excited about aligning with the trends of tomorrow, which he calls ‘the next gen.’ “We will take a hard look at what we offer and explore questions such as, ‘What does the future employee look like?’ We will embrace our practitioners and ask, ‘What do you need to become better professionals?’ And, we will make sure the Foundation is a vital part of The IIA as a supportive entity to meet the needs of our 200,000 + members worldwide,” he explains.

Giving his time to The IIA is important to him, and he has done exactly that for more than 30 years, serving in numerous volunteer roles, beginning with his local chapter. “The IIA has a noble and worthwhile mission. It provides value to its stakeholders so they can reach a higher level of performance,” says Brian.

Supporting the Foundation is essential, he says. “The role of the Foundation is crucial. It enhances the profession for our members — no matter where they are in their careers — through collaboration, research, and publications addressing timely and relevant topics.”
